Winter is my favorite time to visit Lancaster County, Pa.  The trees are bare and the fields cut back which allows the visitor a closer look at the beautiful barns and landscape.

Look who came for breakfast on Christmas Eve!  The cats were looking out of the window and I could hear their tails thumping against the window sill  from the other room.  When I went to see what they found so interesting outside, I saw this raccoon enjoying the sunflower seeds in the bird feeder that is hanging from the Japanese Maple tree.  It was just after daybreak and the raccoon was sitting in the tree with his head and front paws in the feeder.  I’m glad that he was able to join us for Christmas Eve breakfast!

Daybreak … late December … fog …  a last glimpse of the snow before it melted on a 60+ degree day in Pennsylvania.  Some of the Oaks are still hanging on to their leaves and the evergreens are adding color to the otherwise dreary landscape.
