These are a few of  my favorite things …. whiskers on kittens and great ear tufts!  🙂   This is cat week on my blog so get ready to see some of THE most adorable cats EVER!  I may even sneak a couple of photos of Brewster and Savannah in just so they don’t feel left out!

I love when I can tell a story with a series of images.   This little kitten stole many a heart at the Christmas City Cat Club show yesterday in Easton, Pa.  He’s an Egyptian Mau and quite a vocal little guy.  He was in Judge Adriana Kajon’s ring and was the very last kitten to be judged in his class.  While Adriana evaluated all of the other cats, this little guy was meowing up a storm in his cage.  (see middle image – bottom)  There was no ignoring him!  It almost sounded like he was saying his breed name – “mau, mau, mau, mau”!  When it was his turn in front of the judge he was as lovable as can be!  Later, while Adriana was describing the cats that she chose to be in her kitten final, our little Mau was poking her in the back from his cage as if to say, “Pick me!  Pick me!”  (see top image)  Lo and behold, he won over Judge Adriana as well and she selected him to be her best kitten of the day.  He is irresistibly cute!

I had a grand time watching the flyball demonstration at The National Dog Show Presented by Purina last month.  Flyball involves teams of dogs racing against each other in a relay through a course and over hurdles to reach a box that when the dog pushes against it, releases a tennis ball.  The dog catches the tennis ball and then races back through the hurdles again to the starting line where the next dog in relay takes off through the course.  The key word in this description is races!  Boy, can these dogs FLY!  I was completely out of my element photographing this event.  I tried just focusing on the hurdle and fired off multiple shots in an attempt to catch the dog in mid-air.  I have more frames with no dog or only a tail as the dogs were wayyyy faster than my reflexes in clicking the shutter.  Even when I started shooting before the dogs ever got to the hurdle I missed them!  They were THAT fast!  Here’s one descent shot.
