Komondor – A Giant Dustmop

Seeing a Komondor in person is a real treat! Their dense, naturally-forming corded coat is amazing. A Komondor is not a herding dog, but instead a “flock guardian”. His coat serves to protect him in case of attack, helps him blend in with his flock, and protects him from extreme weather conditions. The cords are described as feeling like felt and require much time and effort in grooming. As you can see from the photos above, this is a large breed dog and as shown in the top image, he is quite capable of giving his owner a hug when standing on his hind legs.
