Month: January 2011

Good things come in small packages…especially when they are of the four-pawed and furry variety!  And this is one *very* special package!  Notice that the man’s jacket says “UPS”!  His route this day was to deliver this cute little Pomeranian to the show ring.  What a special delivery indeed!  Why oh why doesn’t MY UPS person bring me packages like this?  🙂

The word Papillon means butterfly in French.  These toy dogs have long fringed hair on their ears which resembles a butterfly, thus the name Papillon.  There is also a drop-ear variety, known as Phalene, which means “moth” in French.  One litter can have both varieties and they are shown together as one breed.  These little dogs are always parti-color or white with patches of other colors.  These 3 little butterflies were finished showing for the day and were sitting on the sidelines watching the group judging at the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club Dog Show last month.  Aren’t they cute?

Back on 12/23 when I was leaving work for the holidays, I wasn’t sure if 11 days off in a row was a good idea.  After all, I’m used to going to work, being super busy, and always running here and there.  Well dear work friends who looked at me like I was half nuts….you were right!  Having 11 days off in a row was a GOOD thing!  I had a chance to relax, accomplish a lot at home, visit with friends, and catch up on things I’ve been putting off for way too long!  Tomorrow it’s back to work and I’m NOT ready!  Who would have believed it?  I’ll be dragging into the office tomorrow morning with a look on my face pretty much like the Bloodhound in the blog image!  How long until my next vacation day?????  🙂

One from the archives……taken nearly 2 years ago, but processed just today.  To say I’m a little behind in my processing is an understatement.  My project for this month is to catch up on the dog show photos I took in August, September and October.  Yipes!!!

As we begin a new year, we tend to look back, remembering the blessings and sorrows of the past 12 months.  On this first day of January, let’s take a few moments to be thankful for all that we have been given and for all of those who have blessed our lives, including our beloved pets, especially those who we have had to say goodbye to this past year.  Best wishes to each of you for a happy & healthy new year!
