Month: April 2011

Yesterday I had a fun “secret session” with a very cool dog and his favorite Aunt.  The photos will be a gift for his human mom for Mother’s Day.  This is all I can share because the images are top secret for now.  I’ll be able to show them to you next month.  If anyone is interested in booking a Spring photo session for your dog or cat, e-mail me!  Photos make wonderful mom and dad’s day gifts, birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, and “just because” gifts!
P.S.  How many of you consider pet hair on your clothing to be an accessory?  🙂

I was out running errands yesterday and it was a beautiful Spring-like day with amazing clouds.  There are several farms that I pass regularly and I have always wanted to stop and photograph them but never had the opportunity.  I decided that yesterday was the day….and the wonderful clouds gave me even more incentive.  Usually there are cows grazing on this farm, but they weren’t outside yesterday.  Since I love cows, I was a little disappointed.   Maybe next time!

At the cat show, owners sometimes have more than one cat showing in rings at the same time and so they aren’t always able to stay with each cat.  Once judging is complete, the owners come and take their cats out of the cage and back to the benching area.  It’s not uncommon to hear an announcement that sounds something like this:  “There’s a lonely Ragdoll in Ring 6 that needs a ride home!”   “A Ride Home” meaning that they need the owner to come for them and carry them back to the benching area so the next group of cats can come into the ring for judging.  Here’s a photo of a beautiful Ragdoll getting “a ride home”!

Napping…that’s what cats do best!  On average they sleep about 16 hours a day…that’s twice as much sleep as humans.  Or should I say twice as much sleep as humans SHOULD have!  My cats are expert nappers!  They just about open one eye when I come home from work and then it’s back to dreamland.   They do perk up when they hear the cat food container opening or the jingle of one of their toys.  My cat Sebastian is very very smart.  If I come home from work earlier than usual, in his mind it means that he’s being taken to the Vet, so he generally hides under the bed the second I come in the door.  Sebastian has had some recent visits to the doctor as he suffered an injury from jumping off the bathroom vanity.  He gets car sick and so trips to the doctor are very unpleasant for him.  I knew that we needed to make a return visit to the Vet so every day for 2 weeks I came home from work at lunch just so he would get used to the idea that my coming home early did not equal a Vet visit.  Of course, the day I did have to take him back to the doctor ruined all of that confidence building that I did and now we’re back to square one.   Please say a little prayer for my kitty Sebastian that he heals well from his injury.  [The blog image is from the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club Cat Show held in Harrisburg, Pa. last weekend.]
