“Why oh why am I over here and my bones are over there??!!!!”
This image is from Pawsabilities 2013 – an event to benefit Susquehanna Service Dogs in Harrisburg, Pa. The challenge was to see how long the dogs could sit still and not go after the bones! Sooooo tempting!

When I attend a show I normally have a list of specific dogs that I have been asked to photograph. While waiting for their ring times, I generally wander the show hall or grounds and look for other interesting scenes or beautiful dogs that catch my eye. I was waiting to see the Sheltie’s the other day and came upon this beautiful Yorkie who had just the sweetest expression. I cannot imagine this pup being anything but angelic, can you?

I couldn’t take my eyes off this dog and handler in the ring. The photographer in me saw a beautiful dog whose colors blended beautifully with the surroundings and a handler who was dressed in similar colors as well. It was a scene that needed to be photographed! It has a minimalist feel – just 3 or 4 different colors and simple, simple, simple! Attention handlers…how you present yourself (appearance, clothing choices, movement, etc.) can make or break a photograph! This team was definitely a winning combination!
