I have always enjoyed photographing the curves and lines on classic cars.  In my opinion, the cars of today don’t offer much in the line of photo ops.  I can’t imagine current models ending up one day in a “classic car show” as they don’t seem to have that special something like the cars of the 1940’s and 1950’s!  Sorry car manufacturers, not impressed!

I came across Major M.J. Moyer’s trunk and can’t help but wonder about the history and stories that this trunk could tell.  I’m not sure who Major Moyer is, but I was drawn to photographing the textures of the buckles and handle.  My dad had a similar trunk when in the Marines and each time I see it I think of him and how brave he was as a young man to enlist in the service during World War II.  His war stories were few as I am sure that they brought back painful memories of things that he would rather not recall.  Still his bravery shines like a beacon and when I am having what I consider to be a tough day, I think about the years that he spent in the South Pacific and my challenges seem insignificant.  Thank you to all who have served our country.
