We wish you a Meow-y Christmas!

Brewster, Savannah and Gabriel are not the best models in the world, but they really do try … for about 5 minutes. Oh, they are all photogenic enough to be models….it’s more of a patience issue with them. They aren’t fans of being asked to sit still in one place for any length of time….wearing something on their head! This year’s Christmas card photo shoot encompassed several days, a couple of wardrobe changes, and a lot of treats. Here’s Brewster sporting his stylish Santa hat and then falling asleep a couple minutes later after his totally exhausting photo session. It’s tough being a handsome cat with a photographer mom!

Can you think of a better way to sightsee around historic Cape May, NJ than by horse and buggy? The horse knows the way to all of the best restaurants, shops, historic places, and inns.

Awww, dear sweet Tuesday. Many grieve the passing of his best friend, Luis Carlos Montalvan, but none more than Tuesday. I’m happy that ECAD (Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities) has been posting updates and photos of Tuesday on their Facebook page as he continues Luis’ mission of education and assisting those with disabilities. Tuesday has retired as a service dog and is now teaching others about the benefits of assistance dogs. This photo is from a visit we had with Luis and Tuesday in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Those who know Tuesday will recognize his unmistakable eyebrows in this photo!

Please remember that not everyone finds joy in the holiday season. Like many others, the holidays bring sadness for me as I think about family and friends that are no longer with us. All of the pretty lights remind me of how my mom decorated our tree and windows, taking care to make everything look perfect. Receiving cards in the mail brings back thoughts of dad working long hours at the Post Office to ensure that everyone’s cards were delivered on time, even working Saturdays and Sundays. Those delicious homemade cookies that you shared remind me that my mother, who taught me how to make all of her favorite Christmas cookies – especially the ones with the pecans, is now in heaven. This Christmas, please remember all of those among us who have lost family and friends. It doesn’t matter how recent the loss, the sadness is always there, especially at this time of year.
