Here’s a breed that you may not see every day at the park … the Bergamasco.  This breed is a herding dog with three different types of hair.  The flocks or loose mats that cover the dog’s body protect it from predators and weather.  Such a fun dog to watch in the show ring … and probably everywhere else for that matter!

Maybe you’ve seen the wonderful ads created by Anita Palmer and featuring photos that I’ve taken of Berger Picard, Gabby, on my Facebook page from time to time.  I just love this dog and was so excited to see her at the show in Macungie, Pa. earlier this month!  Gabby is the first Berger Picard to win Best of Breed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club as the breed was newly entered to the Herding Group last year.

Another of my most favorite breeds – the Australian Cattle Dog.  This pup looks regal, poised and confident in the lush grass at the Bucks County Kennel Club show last month.

The dream  team, Kevin & Gabby ( GCH Guess V.D. Bovendijkse Hoeve CM6 RN CGC), at the Boardwalk Kennel Club show in Wildwood, NJ.  Gabby is a Berger Picard – a French herding dog.  This breed made it’s first ever appearance at Westminster in February and Gabby won Best in Breed.

Somebody is jumping for joy over a Herding Group 1 at the show in Edison, NJ last weekend!
