Silky

Now I know why I always seem to confuse the Yorkshire Terrier, Silky Terrier and Austrialian Terrier. They all look very similar. This is a Silky Terrier which has an interesting history. The breed was developed when Yorkshire Terriers were brought to Australia in the 1800’s and bred with Australian Terriers to try and improve coat color. The resulting litters produced individuals of all 3 breeds – Yorkie, Silky and Australian. The Silky’s were then bred together until a recognized breed was developed. They are a member of the toy group, very energetic, and don’t like to be ignored! I love their little beards! So cute!
