According to the American Kennel Club website, “…owners should be prepared for drool – there is no such thing as a dry mouth Saint.”  Hence this image featuring a Saint Bernard wearing a bib at the Delaware County Kennel Club show in York, Pa. last month.  I didn’t realize until reading about the breed that there is a longhaired and shorthaired variety.  Saint Bernards were originally used to locate freezing and helpless travelers during snowstorms.  Now, besides being a gentle and loving family pet, they also excel at conformation, obedience, cart pulling and weight pulling.
