It’s taken me YEARS to learn all of the breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club, and I still mix them up sometimes.  I occasionally look at the standards when I wish to know more about a particular breed, but I honestly wouldn’t know which were the most “correct” dogs when watching breeds being judged.  That’s the difference between me the photographer and all of my dog show friends.  They really KNOW a great dog when they see one and I just know that they are all so stinkin’ cute that I can’t help but want to photograph each and every one!  When I was a little kid I used to look up “dogs” in my World Book Encyclopedia and marvel at the variety of the breeds.  The Skye Terrier was always one of my top favorites, even though I had never seen one in person!  I just love their unique look!  This is Ch.
