I always think of Koalas when I see this breed, The Pumi. It’s those ears! How cute is this dog? The Pumi is a Hungarian herding breed that originated in the 17th or 18th century. Their coat is 50% soft hair and 50% harsher hair – all the same length. I would love to pet one some day! Hopefully I will see them at an upcoming show!

I love this description of The Pointer from the American Kennel Club website: “Here is an animal whose every movement shows him to be a wide-awake, hard-driving hunting dog possessing stamina, courage, and the desire to go. And in his expression are the loyalty and devotion of a true friend of man.” This is one of my favorite breeds to photograph!

Whether you and your dog are home on the couch, at the park, walking in the city, or at a top notch dog show, by all means, enjoy every moment with your best friend!

What dogs think in the show ring: “I can snatch that treat out of your hand in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1….second! Awww c’mon, stop teasing me! I’ve been standing here … PERFECTLY … for quite long enough I would say! Oh, for the love of liver, are we going around the ring AGAIN before I get to have a snack?”

It was great to finally get out to photograph a show over the weekend! The sights, scents, and sounds were so welcoming after being away for a few months! I enjoyed visiting with my friends and seeing the dogs that I love to watch and photograph in the ring! So happy that, for me at least, it’s dog show season again!
