I spent two fun-filled days at the Hatboro and Devon dog shows over the weekend! The shows had it all — sun, clouds, rain, wind, drama, excitement, old friends, new friends, wonderful dogs, and a couple thousand photos to review! Here’s a favorite shot from Devon on Saturday….alone in the ring.

Maybe you’ve seen the wonderful ads created by Anita Palmer and featuring photos that I’ve taken of Berger Picard, Gabby, on my Facebook page from time to time. I just love this dog and was so excited to see her at the show in Macungie, Pa. earlier this month! Gabby is the first Berger Picard to win Best of Breed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club as the breed was newly entered to the Herding Group last year.

I have so many places that I want to photograph, but I’m always waiting for a nice bright overcast day. Unfortunately, this summer has had very few days without sun. The light at the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club show on Saturday morning was wonderful. No sun glare, no intense shadows … just nice even light for photographing the dogs. I love the sweet expression of this Irish Red & White Setter. This is one of my favorite shots of the day!

A kiss for the PBGV (Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen) after the Owner-Handler Group judging at the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club show on Saturday. I just love this spunky breed!

The first time I saw this Borzoi jump from the dock I was completely unprepared for how high and how far the dog could fly! I had my camera focused on the area where most of the other dogs were jumping and I think the first frame contained only the Borzoi’s legs. The next frame was just a tail. This dog takes dock diving seriously and had some mighty long and very graceful jumps last weekend! It took a lot of tries before I finally got the whole dog in the frame! Amazing!
