Brewster and Gabriel are always vying for top spot on the cat tree.  They like to snooze in the cradle and keep an eye on the bird and squirrel activity in the yard from their high up perch.  On this day, Gabriel was comfy and minding his own business when Brewster decided that it was his turn to take over the top level.  So, what does Brewster do but take a flying leap from the floor onto the perch (see left photo) … regardless of whether Gabriel was laying there or not.  Who do you think won top spot?  As you can see from the photo on the right … it was Brewster.  He is, after all, the big brother!  Little squirt Gabriel was pushed out to find another place for his morning nap. I love the action shot of Brewster in mid-jump!

Under the mistletoe … or … Happy New Year?!  Savannah was feeling extra loving this holiday season and was seen giving her brothers kisses during one of our Christmas photo sessions.  I think she was secretly asking them to save her from having to sit on the fluffy blanket to have her photo taken yet again!  Do you think they will be celebrating at midnight tonight with more kisses?  If there are fireworks, they will likely all be hiding under the blankets!  Happy New Year from my furry family to yours!

Me, Gabriel and 75,000 others are currently watching the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam live feed – here’s the link –http://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com/eagle-feed.html – and hoping to see the babies hatch.  Mom, “Harriet”, and dad, “M15” (short for male 2015) are busy taking turns sitting on the two eggs in their nest.  One egg has a “pip”, which is the first break in the shell and that happened yesterday.  It is so interesting to watch how mom and dad rearrange the eggs and warm them in preparation for hatching.

We wish you a Meow-y Christmas!

Brewster, Savannah and Gabriel are not the best models in the world, but they really do try … for about 5 minutes.  Oh, they are all photogenic enough to be models….it’s more of a patience issue with them.  They aren’t fans of being asked to sit still in one place for any length of time….wearing something on their head!  This year’s Christmas card photo shoot encompassed several days, a couple of wardrobe changes, and a lot of treats.  Here’s Brewster sporting his stylish Santa hat and then falling asleep a couple minutes later after his totally exhausting photo session.  It’s tough being a handsome cat with a photographer mom!
