I had a grand time photographing at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum’s World War II weekend yesterday. So many great photo ops and a time to learn more about the brave men and women who served our country during World War II. I am so proud of my dad who was a Marine in the South Pacific during the war. This image is from the reenactment battle between the French Resistance, Allied and German troops in the French Village where women and children watched from windows and doorways while the soldiers fought outside.

Dear person who schedules events at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex…..a dog show and a cat show on the same weekend?! Really?! Photographing BOTH events was exhausting, but totally fun and I had a great time! Nonetheless…could you please maybe schedule them for 2 different weekends next year?

The migration of Snow Geese and Tundra Swans through Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area is over for another year. Thankfully I have plenty of photos to remind me that being part of this annual event is an incredibly exhilarating experience for any nature lover (or photographer!). One of these days I’ll actually post photos of some geese! 🙂

The snow geese have returned to Middle Creek Wildlife Refuge as a stop-over point on their annual migration north to their breeding grounds. Current counts are at around 60,000 snow geese. Today the viewing area at Willow Point was packed with people watching and waiting for the birds to take to the air. A good portion of the lake is still frozen due to our extra long and harsh winter, but the geese are here in large numbers and were very active today. This is one of my favorite photos of the day. I love people and dog watching at Middle Creek as much as I love bird watching!
