This big furry dog was such a ham for the camera! A natural model to be sure! He was hanging out with mom and dad (and giving dad lots of hugs!) while waiting to see the snow geese at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area.

A sure sign that Spring is around the corner is when the snow geese return to Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Pennsylvania on their annual migration north. I spent some time with 80,000+ of my feathered friends over the weekend and they did not disappoint. I love the challenge of finding new and interesting ways to photograph the migration. For me, part of the fun is people watching. The number of photographers, birders, nature enthusiasts and even dogs, seems to increase every year. Everyone loves to photograph the geese … no matter what type of camera they have. I love this fun shot of a couple watching the geese return to the lake at dusk while photographing with a cell phone camera.

Sending best wishes to David Frei tonight on his final Westminster broadcast. My interest in dog shows developed from watching Westminster year after year on TV and listening to David’s commentary about each of the breeds. I always dreamed of attending a dog show one day … never realizing that there were many in my area that I didn’t even know about! What a thrill to finally attend my first show in Harrisburg, Pa. in 2006 and meeting not only Westminster winner, Colored Bull Terrier “Rufus” (Ch Rocky Top’s Sundance Kid), but David Frei as well! I wish him the best in his future projects with NBC and will absolutely miss his golden voice on future Westminster broadcasts. (Photo: Calling All Dogs Walk – 2015 / Grace, David & Angel)

I went to see the Olate Dogs Rescue Tour over the weekend! What a FUN show! Olate Dogs won the 2012 season of “America’s Got Talent” and who could not fall in love with these adorable pups? All are poodles/poodle mixes rescued from shelters and trained by Richard Olate to do the most amazing tricks! They walk on their hind legs, jump rope, do back flips, go down the sliding board, join together for a 3-doggie conga line, ride scooters and so much more! You can tell that the dogs are loving every minute of it, too! Tails wagging like crazy! “Professional” cameras were not allowed in the theater (BOO!) and I have several failed attempts of shots with the phone and point ‘n shoot camera. I snuck this shot with the “Professional” Canon 7D just to have a remembrance! Wish I had more pictures to share, but this is about it! That’s Bella on the left, Oso the white Standard Poodle, Richard, and I think he’s holding Willy. Love these dogs!

Here are Lourdes Edlin and her high flying Frisbee dog, Mac, entertaining the crowd at The National Dog Show Presented by Purina. Challenging to photograph, but oh so much fun to watch!
