This is Briard Dill, “Ch. Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber”, before and after winning Herding Group 1 at the Lancaster Kennel Club show earlier this month. Dill is very excited about the win, giving handler Regina Keiter a big hug!

Meet Yoshi, “GCH Rosevalley’s Top Priority”, a very handsome Australian Shepherd owned and handled by Tom Gerard. I met Yoshi and his human and furry family (including “Jack” who I posted an image of last week) at the Lancaster Kennel Club show in Lebanon, Pa. a couple weekends ago. I immediately fell in love with Yoshi, especially the adorable freckles on his nose! Watch for Team Yoshi at a dog show near you!

I am always so happy to see Jack (“GCH Wyndstar’s Honorable Mention”) at a show! Here he is on Sunday at the Lancaster Kennel Club show in Lebanon, Pa. just before going into the ring for breed judging. If you want to learn a whole lot more about this adorable champion Australian Shepherd, pick up a copy of the book “Show Dog: The Charmed Life and Trying Times of a Near-Perfect Purebred” by Josh Dean. The author spent a year with Jack and chronicles his life as a family pet and show dog. If you are at all a “dog person”, you will love it. Plus, if you ever see Jack at a dog show, he might even “paw-tograph” your copy!

Meet the Berger Picard! This is a French herding dog, also called a Picardy Shepherd in some countries. It originated from dogs brought to northern France around 400 BC, but almost became extinct during the World Wars. In the 1940’s, fanciers worked to bring the dog back and though still rare, it is shown in the Miscellaneous class at AKC dog shows. They are a good natured and loyal companion with a touch of a stubborn streak. I had never met a Berger Picard before the Bucks County Kennel Club show last weekend. What a nice looking breed, don’t you think?
