The registered names of some dogs are challenging to remember, but not this one!  Her call name is “Honey”, but her registered name is “Ch Crescendo’s Honey Not Tonight”.  I met Honey a couple of years ago at The National Dog Show and instantly remembered her name and precious face.   I’ve been lucky to see her a couple of times this year now that she’s back in the ring after becoming a “mom”.  Her puppies are adorable and they are getting their paws wet in the dog show world as well!  So cute to see mom and babies having fun at the shows!

Poodle

Ashton, “CH Retniw’s When in Rome”, won Best of Breed at the Lancaster Kennel Club show in Lebanon, PA last month.  What a handsome boy!
So glad to have been there to see him win!

Pippa's Ad_small

I met Pippa, “HeartSpot’s See What You Can Do Pippa”, just about a year ago at a show in Ludwig’s Corner, Pa.  It seems like just yesterday that I was watching her fly around the ring for the first time.  Now I love photographing her whenever I see her at a show!  She’s a sweetheart!  The ad above is currently appearing in the June/July issue of the online publication  EDalmatians [http://www.edalmatians.com/] and features one of my portraits of Pippa from a show earlier this year in York, Pa.   I am so flattered when someone asks to use one of my photographs in their ad – thank you Cathy!

The Dalmatian is the only spotted breed … and when they are born, they have no spots at all – they are all white!  Spots begin to appear after about 3 weeks and can be black or brown (liver colored).  I know I’m crazy, but I love to look at the coat of this breed for recognizable shapes or patterns in the spots … almost like when you stare at the clouds in the sky and see faces or animals or other shapes!  What do you see when you look at this dog’s coat?
