Congratulations to Oakley, “GCH Mt. View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm”, on winning Best in Show today at the Pontiac Kennel Club show in Michigan. This is one of my most favorite dogs to watch in the ring and photograph. My blog images are from the Bucks County Kennel Club show in Erwinna, Pa. earlier this month. Hope to see you again soon Oakley!

Out of the corner of my eye I could see a flash of golden liver colored fur scampering across the floor with it’s owner. I had to stop and ask, “Is that a Sussex?” The answer was YES! This is a 4 month old Sussex Spaniel who I met yesterday at the Lancaster County Kennel Club show in Lebanon, Pa. Sussex Spaniels are one of my very favorite breeds and they are quite rare. This pup’s owner told me that there are only about 50 born per year in the United States. I don’t see them at shows often and this is the first Sussex puppy that I’ve ever seen. This puppy was cuteness multiplied by a million!

This is Irish Water Spaniel, Riley {GCH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire}, photographed at the Bucks County Kennel Club show last weekend. Riley had a Sporting Group 1 at Bucks and is a gorgeous dog! According to the AKC website, Irish Water Spaniels are considered the clown of the spaniel family and will find creative ways to accomplish the smallest of tasks. They are also the tallest of all spaniel breeds and are recognized by their rat tail and curly liver colored coat. Love this breed!
