Oh, this is definitely an outtake!  Brewster and I were trying to take a selfie and success was very elusive.  At this point I believe he had enough of “looking pretty for the camera”!  All he really wanted was the treat reward that he knew was coming at the end of the photo session!

Now that’s a built-in boot polisher right there!  🙂  My angel cat Sebastian LOVED shoes!  He could always be found with his nose in a sandal or even sleeping on a sneaker!  What could be better than a dog like the one photographed above who wants to be THAT close to you all the time?!  This is just the sweetest dog!

The handler shown in this image always wears a straw hat with a pretty colored scarf around it that matches her outfit.  I apologize for not knowing her name, but she always wears such pretty clothes in the ring.  This particular day she wore a turquoise and green flowing skirt and turquoise jacket.  I had just the right textured background to blend with her outfit and showcase the Belgian Malinois in this image.  For me, the straw hat in the corner totally makes this image!  Not to mention that it’s the same coloring as the dog, who just happens to be adorable!

I’m a photographer first … and a dog show photographer second.  I don’t look to photograph traditional run of the mill images.  I hope that my photos convey the heart and soul of the dog and relationships between dogs and their people, be they owners, handlers, or even spectators.  If you see me at a show, I’m often trying to find a good vantage point from which to photograph where there is an uncluttered background.  I’m looking for interesting colors, patterns, angles and expressions.  Something different!
