The National Dog Show Presented by Purina will re-air tonight (Saturday, 11/26/16) on NBC.  Check local listings for the time in your area.  Here’s a photo of the beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog in the Group Judging.  Each and every group winner is shown on TV via the “steady-cam” – a hand held camera that is at the dog’s level for a great close up!  Unfortunately the individual judging of each dog isn’t seen on TV due to time constraints.  You can view the judging of each breed online here:  http://www.nbcsports.com/dog-show

In just a few short minutes …. tune into NBC at noon (all time zones) on Thanksgiving Day and see who is crowned Best in Show at The National Dog Show Presented by Purina.  Hosts David Frei and John O’Hurley will cover all of the action ringside.  Here they are pictured with last year’s winner, Skye Terrier, “Charlie”.  Enjoy the show!

The benching area at The National Dog Show Presented by Purina is my favorite part of the event.  Visitors have an opportunity to meet the dogs up close and personal, learn about the breeds, talk with the owners/handlers, and just plain old have a great time in the company of the most beautiful dogs in the world!  These are 3 of my favorite shots from ‘behind the scenes’ at the show last Saturday.  Be sure to turn in to NBC at noon on Thanksgiving (all time zones) and watch The National Dog Show with hosts David Frei and John O’Hurley.  I would tell you who wins Best in Show, but I’m sworn to secrecy!  You’ll have to tune in to find out!  🙂

Gabriel was just a little kitten living in Virginia last year at this time.  I don’t know his exact circumstances, but I’m sure life was difficult for him and his brothers and sisters.  They were given up for adoption in November and Gabriel found his way to Siamese Cat Rescue Center and eventually to his forever home with us.  Now he loves to sit by the window and watch the falling leaves.  As soon as dawn breaks, he runs to the window and his little head moves from side to side as he watches leaves float from the big oak trees in the yard.  He paws at the glass in an attempt to catch them.  I wonder if he chased leaves when he was living outside on those cold late Fall days last year in Virginia?  Now he is content to watch from his safe spot indoors on the window sill or on one of our cat perches.  His brother and sister often join him.  Above is one of his favorite spots in the big dining room window.  Below is a photo of him sitting by the French doors and showing off his beautiful blue eyes.  No, there was no Photoshop involved in enhancing the color.  His eyes are really that blue!
