Here are Tara and Sebastian in their “offical” Halloween costumes. Tara is a pretty pink flower and Sebastian is a pumpkin. I think they are both very thankful that Halloween only comes around once a year. Tara and Sebastian aren’t so much into the whole costume idea….! 🙂

Now THIS is a dog that knows what he wants…and he isn’t afraid to let you [and everyone else] know it!! I met rerun and his mom Pam at a nearby park on a warm Sunday afternoon. Since rerun never visited this park before, he was busy doing what Beagles do….keeping his nose to the ground and sniffing EVERYTHING! Beagles, after all, are scent hounds and they are always on the trail of SOMETHING. We stopped for a moment to chat with some people, but rerun wanted to keep walking. That was when the howling began. I have never heard a dog howl so loudly! Holy cow! The sound echoed throughout the valley…it was just insane! As we walked around the lake, rerun would howl because he wanted to go in a certain direction…or he would howl when he saw another dog….or he would howl so that new friends would come and pet him or he would howl just because! People were coming up to us and saying, “Oh, THAT’S what we heard on the other side of the lake!” rerun was becoming quite famous! Oh, by the way, he doesn’t capitalize his name. It’s “rerun”, not “Rerun”. He absolutely had us laughing all afternoon. At first he wanted no part of posing for photographs, but after a little while he became quite the model, especially when he was rewarded with carrots! AAARRROOOOOOO!

Last weekend as I was on my way to photograph a super cute beagle, I saw this scene along the side of the road. I made a mental note to stop to photograph it on the way home as I was short on time. Most often when I see something and say, “I’ll come back and photograph this”, I rarely ever do. I either forget or just want to get on home from wherever I was headed in the first place. This scene was too pretty to pass up, however, so I pulled over on the way home. The leaves were ‘just right’! It was a cloudy day, so I chose not to include the sky in the image. I just wanted to fill the frame with Fall color. I wonder what is inside that little building? Isn’t that open doorway just beckoning you to come inside and have a look?

I’m quite sure that my neighbors just shake their heads when they see me wandering around the yard in my jammies, camera in hand! Today was another one of those days when I looked out of the window, saw the fog, grabbed the camera and ran outside in an outfit not ready for public viewing! 🙂 These 2 images were photographed at around 8:00 AM. The top image is across the road from my house where there is an empty lot. Almost all of the trees here have already lost their leaves and there was just a splash of color on the forest floor, made even more vibrant by yesterday’s rain. The image below features my Japanese Maple tree. It’s always the last tree in my yard to change color and it’s as if it waits until the oak trees have finished putting on their show so that the Maple can shine and glow all by itself. It really is a striking red color.
