My State Dog Is Great

Did you know that 12 states have recognized an official state dog?  Pennsylvania’s state dog is the Great Dane.  Legislation was recently introduced in New York to adopt the “rescue dog” as the official state dog of New York.  They aren’t referring to ‘search and rescue’ dogs, but instead dogs that have been rescued and adopted from an animal shelter!  I think that is an outstanding idea and I hope the legislation passes!  Today’s blog image is of a Great Dane and was taken at the Bryn Mawr Kennel Club Dog Show a few weeks back.  I’m really partial to natural ears on Great Dane’s, but I have to admit that this is one cute dog no matter whether his ears are up or down!  To see if your state has an official dog, see this link:

Just a BEAUtiful portrait Betsy! Did you add a film grain to it? I love the look of the effect.
And that is so cool that there are state dogs! I looked at the list, too bad there are only a few states that have them. The rest of the states need to get with the program!

Thank you Ashley. Yes, I did add a film grain to this image to jazz it up a bit! 🙂 Glad you like it! I agree that more states should “adopt” a state dog! I wonder if there are state cats? I’ll have to research that….!
