Sebastian is terrified of fireworks….actually, all loud noises.  He doesn’t like thunder, the vacuum, the doorbell, or the telephone.  This weekend is just about his least favorite of the year as there are always folks putting off fireworks in my neighborhood.  I have tried turning up the TV really loud in the hopes that it will drown out the fireworks, but that doesn’t help much.  Plus my neighbors probably think I’ve become very hard of hearing!  🙂   Sebastian usually hides out under the bed until things quiet down.  Thankfully he doesn’t have severe noise phobia to the extent of some animals [panting, drooling, shaking, refusing to eat, etc.], but still I stay home and keep him calm…letting him know that the noise isn’t going to hurt him.  Please remember to keep your pets safe this 4th of July weekend…particularly keep them indoors if they have a fear of fireworks.
