Eckley Homes
Posted on October 23, 2011 in Architecture, Fall, Street
One of the places I visited last weekend in search of Fall color was Eckley Miners’ Village in NE Pennsylvania. Not much color in the leaves but there is always plenty to photograph in this tiny little historic spot. It’s worth a visit any time of year. At one time there were 2 streets, now only one, and over 1,000 residents. Today only some of the homes are inhabited while others remain as historic landmarks.
BEAUTIFUL shot Besty, looks like a painting!! How did you shoot/process it?
Thanks Ashley. I shot this image with my Tamron 28-75mm lens and processed it with Topaz Adjust to get the effect I was after. I really wanted to pop the sky because the clouds were terrific that day.
Very nice! I have to get up to Eckley one of these days. Probably in the Spring.
Hey Dale – you should visit Eckley during one of their event days in the summer. They have folks dressed in period costume, reenactments, all of the buildings are open, etc. Check out their website.
