I’m not much for getting up super early to go out and photograph the sunrise. I’m not much for getting up super early to go out and photograph anything for that matter! Just ask me how many times I’ve made it to a dog show in time to hear the National Anthem at the start of the day! Not very often! 🙂 [Oh and I LOVE hearing the dogs howl to the National Anthem, too!] Well, today I was up bright and early before sunrise and saw that it was a bit foggy/misty so for whatever reason, I was inspired to drive over to the lake to see if there were any images to be made. I ended up spending over an hour there, photographing sunrise, mist, dew on leaves, water reflections, etc. It turned out to be a fun, albeit chilly, early morning adventure. Here’s one image of the shoreline with a rowboat, some mist on the water, and the last of Fall color in the leaves.

Cold nose and wagging tail. A combination that can bring hope, faith, and smiles to patients in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes. Just ask David Frei. David shares his life and his dogs with patients every day and tells countless heartwarming stories about their visits in his new book, “Angel on a Leash – Therapy Dogs and the Lives They Touch”. It’s a wonderful book … definitely keep a box of tissues nearby as you read it. In fact, this one might even be a “two boxer” – pun intended! The book can be purchased through Amazon.com – here’s a link: http://www.amazon.com/Angel-Leash-Therapy-Lives-Touch/dp/193548463X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1320759181&sr=1-1
Above is a photo of David and Grace and below is his special Princess “Angel” – both therapy dogs who are changing lives!

Most dogs love to be brushed. It’s a time when you and your pooch can spend some quality time together. Not only is brushing an essential part of keeping your dog’s coat healthy and clean, it also is very soothing and relaxing for the dog. This Glen of Imaal Terrier is just waiting for someone to pick up that brush and spend some time with him. Our pets love us unconditionally and just want to be with us. Make time every day to play with and groom your pet!

Today I spent a little while updating my website with recent dog show images. Despite my best intentions, I’m not able to post all of my favorite images from each show to the website. Not only is that a daunting task since I take hundreds of images at each show, but my website software also has a 2,500 image limit. There are ways around the limit issue, but for now I’ve decided to just post a few favorites from each show and move on. If anyone is interested in a particular dog or breed from a show, just send me an e-mail and I’ll see what I have in the archives. Here’s a link to my main dog show page: http://www.betsydallasphoto.com/Dog%20Show%20Main.html From there just click on the show name/date. Isn’t the puppy in this image sweet? I love how his/her eyes match the blurred grassy background. Oh how I miss that green grass! Last weekend – a blizzard, this weekend – leaf raking! To make matters worse…no more outdoor dog shows until around May! Blah! 🙁 It’s going to be a l-o-n-g winter!
