Moondog…what a great name! It so fits this adorable Basset Hound handled by Margery Good. His official registered name is “GCH. L’ile Du Feu’s Moondoggie” and he’s a looker for sure! This image was taken at the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club show in Macungie, Pa. on Saturday. I love this image because of the position of the negative space in the composition. A little texture was added for interest. I have a feeling that a kiss on the nose was just around the corner!

I was trying to decide what image to post today and I remembered this one from last weekend at the Westchester Kennel Club show. It was just before the Hound Group went into the ring and there was a soft breeze under the tent. The breeze was enough to send this Doxie’s ears flying …. so cute! The image below is this same adorable pup in the show ring….wowing the judge for sure!

This is one of my favorite photos from last weekend’s Westchester Kennel Club Dog Show. That’s German Shorthaired Pointer, Scarlet [GCh. Skypoint’s Our River Runs Free] on the left and her handler, Anna, on the right. I’ve photographed Scarlet a few times this year and am always looking for new and different ways to photograph her. This image totally shows her personality. Scarlet LOVES her people! It’s often hard to believe that shots like this are candid and not posed! When I took this image, Scarlet and Anna were in the show ring waiting for their turn in front of the judge. Sometimes magic just happens!

…the conversation around the dinner table would go something like this:
DOG: “Um, mom? Could I please have that steak that you made for your dinner? Maybe you could eat my beefy bits doggie food … or even ramen noodles … instead?”
ME: “Why of course! That is exactly what I had in mind!”
I mean really…..how could you resist these pleading eyes? I would be a big old push over for sure! Can’t you just picture him saying that?! 🙂
