Sitting ring side at the dog show in York on Sunday was this adorable little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy.  She was so well behaved and just sat on her owner’s lap, all the while watching the activity in the Group and Best in Show ring.  I think she was dreaming about the day when she will be able to go into the ring like the big dogs!  Someday……..!!

It’s been a great year for Australian Cattle Dog GCH CH Jems Cool Blue Diva, a.k.a. “Hedi”!  Over the last 12 months she entered the dog show world, went to stay with her handlers, traveled to many shows, earned her championship and grand championship, made some great new doggie and human friends, went to Westminster in New York City and celebrated her final show yesterday in York, Pa.  After the show she went home with mom and dad to Virginia where she will live on the farm and enjoy the good life!  Down the road she may take obedience or therapy classes, but right now, she’s going to be one pampered pooch!  Hugs and kisses, Hedi!  I will miss watching you in the ring!

This isn’t the best dog photo I’ve ever taken, but it is definately appropriate for St. Patrick’s Day.  This is one of the contestants in last weekend’s costume contest at “Pawsabilties” in Harrisburg, Pa.  I love that the Greyhound’s name is really “Irish”!  Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone!

Love is kissing your dog on the lips!  🙂
This image was taken during the Dog Olympics at “Pawsabilities” in Harrisburg, Pa. last weekend – an event to benefit Susquehanna Service Dogs.  This adorable pair was participating in the “Temptation Tower” game explained in yesterday’s post.  It didn’t matter whether they won or not, their love was as strong as ever!  It was so sweet to watch the affection that this little boy showed toward his dog all throughout the events.  Of course, it was returned 10 fold by the dog!

It’s called “Temptation Tower” and was one of the Doggie Olympic games at “Pawsabilities” last weekend!  Dogs and their owners sat in a circle with a plate of biscuits in front of them.  This timed game involved the owner building a tower of biscuits in front of the dog.  If a dog ate any of the biscuits, the owner and dog were eliminated.  If the tower fell over, they could rebuild until time ran out.  The team with the most number of biscuits stacked in the tower when time was called was the winner.  I was so impressed with the amount of restraint shown by all of the dogs!  How do you think YOUR dog would have done in this challenge?
