If anyone is looking for photos from the York, PA or Edison, NJ dog shows the past two Sundays (3/17 and 3/24), let me know!  I have candid ring side photos of most dogs in the Group and Best in Show judging plus candids from around the rings!  Both shows were outstanding and it was so much fun to visit with friends and the most adorable dogs ever!  Today’s blog image is from the Bronx County Kennel Club show on Sunday, 3/24/13, in Edison, NJ.  Those eyes just drew me right in!

This is Portugese Water Dog GCH Claircreek Impression De Matisse.  To his friends he’s known simply as  “Matisse”.   He is magnificent!  Groomed to perfection with not one hair out of place!  Matisse won Best in Show last Sunday at the Delaware County Kennel Club show in York, Pa. and he’s currently one of the Top 10 dogs in the country!  Of course we all know that the #1 dog in the country is the one sitting next to you on the couch as David Frei says!!

Between the judge and the handler, one of them MUST have the correct time since both are wearing watches.  I’d say that it’s time for this Tibetan Terrier to win Best in Show, what time do you think it is?

I could not take my eyes off this dog when I saw it at the York show over the weekend!  Do you know the breed?  It’s a “Pumi”!  They are ADORABLE!  Curly fur with the cutest ears ever!  I just read on the AKC website that they are a Hungarian herding breed that originated in the 17th or 18th century from Puli mixed with French and German herding dogs plus some terrier mixed in for good measure.  They are energetic, intelligent and alert and need a job to do!  They also only shed when combed!  The Pumi is currently a member of the “Miscellaneous Class” with a herding group designation.  So, so cute!

I absolutely could not resist snapping this photo as I left the dog show over the weekend!  It was one of those – OMG, look at that! – moments!
