There are various types of competitions at a dog show: conformance, obedience, junior handling, etc. This photo shows the winners of the Brace competition at the Montgomery County Kennel Club show in Blue Bell, Pa. on Sunday. In the Brace class, two dogs show together and both must conform to the breed standard and also look and move as one. All of the Brace teams were wonderful and fun to photograph!

Just across the Boardwalk from one another in Atlantic City are the sleek and elegant Rebel Hotel and Casino and the Atlantic City Historical Museum. The Rebel is 47 stories of glass and modern architecture with what looks like a giant golf ball on the roof. The Historical Museum, located on Garden Pier, is very quaint, and has a terracotta tile roof. They couldn’t be more different! I loved looking for ways to photograph the contrast.

I can honestly say that I love my commute to work! Not only is it a beautiful drive, but I have the opportunity to see LOTS of wildlife. On my way home Monday, a flock of wild turkeys ran across the road in front of me, followed not too far behind by a raccoon! This morning, I was treated to a bald eagle sighting on the road leading to my workplace. What a majestic bird! I saw it gliding across the sky near the river and wasn’t sure if it was an eagle or a hawk. Then I saw the flash of white and the yellow beak and sure enough, it was a bald eagle! No photos, unfortunately, but the photo in my mind is perfection! This image is from yesterday’s afternoon drive home …. the colors are fabulous! I added a touch of oil painting effect with Topaz Impression. Happy Fall everyone!

I’m loving the newest software by Topaz Labs, called “Impression”, which is used to turn photographs into paintings. Here’s an image of my girl Savannah with an oil painting layer added. Isn’t she adorable? (I might be just a wee bit prejudiced!)
