Perched on what was left of a pier along the shore in Cape May, NJ is this lone gull.  A background texture and watercolor effect were added in post processing.  I love shore birds!

What a wonderful place to sit and reflect while listening to the waves kiss the shoreline!  As I write this, it is 27 degrees and snowing outside my window.  Oh how I wish I were back at the sea, watching the gulls, searching for shells, and enjoying the fresh salt air!

Low tide at Sunset Beach in Cape May, NJ.  The waves were coming in fast with lots of foam and pretty colors at the end of a bright sunny, blue sky day.

A Great Dane and a Golden Retriever …. all 8 paws in the air …. chasing a tennis ball on the beach!  It was a doggie play date and they were having SO much fun.  I think I was having just as much fun watching them romp across the sand and playing together!

With blessings and furry hugs.  That’s how retired U.S. Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan signed his e-mail and books.  His smile would light up the room and together with his service dog, Tuesday, he was a strong advocate for veterans issues and those with disabilities.  I had the extreme honor of being invited to photograph Luis and Tuesday several times in the last few years and will forever cherish the memories of those special days.  We were planning to visit this Spring when he and Tuesday returned to our area.  Luis passed away over the weekend and I can still not comprehend that he is gone.  With blessings and furry hugs … you will be missed.
