Under the mistletoe … or … Happy New Year?!  Savannah was feeling extra loving this holiday season and was seen giving her brothers kisses during one of our Christmas photo sessions.  I think she was secretly asking them to save her from having to sit on the fluffy blanket to have her photo taken yet again!  Do you think they will be celebrating at midnight tonight with more kisses?  If there are fireworks, they will likely all be hiding under the blankets!  Happy New Year from my furry family to yours!

Me, Gabriel and 75,000 others are currently watching the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam live feed – here’s the link –http://www.dickpritchettrealestate.com/eagle-feed.html – and hoping to see the babies hatch.  Mom, “Harriet”, and dad, “M15” (short for male 2015) are busy taking turns sitting on the two eggs in their nest.  One egg has a “pip”, which is the first break in the shell and that happened yesterday.  It is so interesting to watch how mom and dad rearrange the eggs and warm them in preparation for hatching.

We wish you a Meow-y Christmas!
– Betsy, Brewster, Savannah and Gabriel

Brewster, Savannah and Gabriel are not the best models in the world, but they really do try … for about 5 minutes.  Oh, they are all photogenic enough to be models….it’s more of a patience issue with them.  They aren’t fans of being asked to sit still in one place for any length of time….wearing something on their head!  This year’s Christmas card photo shoot encompassed several days, a couple of wardrobe changes, and a lot of treats.  Here’s Brewster sporting his stylish Santa hat and then falling asleep a couple minutes later after his totally exhausting photo session.  It’s tough being a handsome cat with a photographer mom!

It was one year ago today that Gabriel joined our family after being fostered by Siamese Cat Rescue Center (thank you Auntie Rinn!).  He was a frightened and shy little kitten, but full of spunk right from the start.  His deep blue eyes and creamy white fur are a gorgeous combination.  As he has gotten a little older (he’s now 1-1/2 years old) he has developed more color and stripes to his lynx point coat.  He has mellowed into his role of chief trouble maker in the house and he loves to frolic with his big brother and sister.  He loves to play with toys and scatters them all under various pieces of furniture and kitchen appliances.  He enjoys belly rubs and is quite the chatterbox at times.  We can’t imagine our house and family without him!  Thank you SCRC for all that you do to foster and find homes for the most wonderful breed of cat … the Siamese!
