I am a huge Jack Hanna fan and was excited to see his show in Lancaster this past weekend. “Jungle Jack” is Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and hosts several TV shows including “Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown” and “Into the Wild”. He is well-known for bringing his animal friends to visit Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Good Morning America, etc., and never fails to entertain. Jack is an animal expert, conservationist and educator. It was wonderful to see and learn about some fascinating animals at the show, including a beaver, alligator, owl, two-toed sloth, lemur, penguin, kookaburra, and, my favorite, the cheetah. There were more, but I can’t remember the names of them all! Isn’t this cheetah beautiful?

The deer are plentiful on the grounds of my workplace. Most days I see them waiting by the parking lot – moms and their babies – hoping that someone has a piece of fruit or some vegetables to share. I admit that I do bring them bananas and apples every now and then. Judging by how they stare at me, I think they know that I am a sucker for those big soft brown eyes! They guilt me into giving them my lunch! This was what I saw today when I looked into the side mirror as I was ready to head home! Do you know how terrible I felt because I didn’t have anything to share?

Most of the dogs didn’t mind the rain at the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club show earlier this month. It was the owners and handlers that were stressing! The low maintenance, drip dry dogs were in good shape. Some of the longer coated breeds, however, were wearing booties, being carried, had raincoats, etc. to help preserve all of the grooming that was done in preparation for the show!
