I love gazebos and this is an especially pretty one.  The location isn’t bad either!  I was initially drawn to this spot when I noticed trees with vivid yellow leaves as I was driving past and so I had to find my way in for a closer look.  When I arrived, the gazebo and red barn were a pleasant surprise!  There is a nice butterfly garden here as well.  It was a worthwhile “Whoa, stop!” moment!

Ghost signs or “brickads” are advertisements that were painted on brick walls of buildings and very common in the decades before The Great Depression.  Here’s one for Horlacher Beer that I came across while traveling through rural Pennsylvania.  The Horlacher Brewing Company of Allentown, Pa. began in 1897, shut down during prohibition, reopened in 1933, and eventually closed in 1978.   The paint may be chipping and the weeds growing high, but ghost signs can still be found if you look for them.

My favorite area of Pennsylvania is Lancaster County.  I love the quiet country farms with pristine homes, rolling fields of crops, windmills, and animals.

The sky is always blue in the Fountain Lobby at The Hotel Hershey.  The lobby is perfect for meeting friends or relaxing with a book.  It’s also beautiful to photograph.  There are so many colors, textures, shapes and patterns!

…don’t miss the architecture!  I can’t believe that I’ve never visited The Pagoda in Reading, Pa. until just this year!  This is an iconic historic landmark situated on Mt. Penn overlooking the city of Reading that offers a wonderful view of the city.  As the name implies, it’s a pagoda that was originally intended to be a resort when built in 1908.  Today the building offers a cafe, observation area, tours, and can be rented for events.  I love the architecture.  Especially all of the horizontal and vertical lines in this image.
