I think this is a juvenile American Herring Gull that I photographed on Long Beach Island, NJ.   There were lots of gulls on the rocks around the Barnegat Lighthouse.  I still find it strange that there are now gulls hanging around shopping centers and fast food restaurants in Pennsylvania … no where near the shore.  It just isn’t the same as seeing them at the beach.

Just like this person that I photographed, I could sit on the beach and watch the movement of the ocean forever and never tire of the ever-changing beauty.  I definitely need more beach days in my life!

What better way to celebrate the arrival of Spring than by spending a day at the beach?!  A little rain was in the forecast but who cares?  A rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day anywhere else!  P.S.  It didn’t rain at all, but the clouds added some nice interest to the sky!

Two Dark-eyed Juncos and an American Goldfinch share a branch during last week’s snowstorm.  They were frequenting the feeding station nearby that was filled with sunflower seeds, wild bird food, and suet, so they were quite content, despite the less than optimal weather conditions.

I can’t pass up a nice sunrise … even if I only photograph it with my iPhone.  With me enjoying first light were a few geese and ducks on the lake.  It was a beautiful way to start the day!
