When I visited Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area last month at sunrise for the snow goose migration, WNEP-TV from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. was on hand to film a segment for Pennsylvania Outdoor Life.  Host Don Jacobs and Middle Creek Manager, Lauren Fenstermacher, along with WNEP’s cameraman were filming as the sun came up on a very cold morning.  The episode of PA Outdoor Life aired last night and guess who made a cameo appearance?  Me!  There I am in the screen shot on the left wearing the green parka and tan hat – right around the 4:46 minute mark in the video segment.  Here’s a link to watch the episode, which is a really great way to get a feel for sunrise during migration at Middle Creek.  http://wnep.com/2017/03/19/snow-goose-migration-at-the-middle-creek-wildlife-management-area/

While out photographing snow geese, I often find myself standing for hours, waiting for geese to arrive, depart, or do something magical.  I entertain myself by looking for other photo opportunities in the vicinity.  On this particular day, a group of women (possibly Mennonite?) were gathered by the lake – all dressed in pretty colored skirts.  What caught my attention, though, was the girl wearing the white socks with pink hearts!  I had to take a photo!

A nice crowd was on hand for the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club Match Show at Canine Learning Experience on Saturday.  There were lots of puppies and lots of kids … a great combination!

Can you think of a better way to sightsee around historic Cape May, NJ than by horse and buggy?  The horse knows the way to all of the best restaurants, shops, historic places, and inns.

With blessings and furry hugs.  That’s how retired U.S. Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan signed his e-mail and books.  His smile would light up the room and together with his service dog, Tuesday, he was a strong advocate for veterans issues and those with disabilities.  I had the extreme honor of being invited to photograph Luis and Tuesday several times in the last few years and will forever cherish the memories of those special days.  We were planning to visit this Spring when he and Tuesday returned to our area.  Luis passed away over the weekend and I can still not comprehend that he is gone.  With blessings and furry hugs … you will be missed.
