I LOVE dogs that have blue eyes! [Well…okay….I love ALL dogs!] Pictured above are an Australian Shepherd and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, both members of the Herding Group. Herding dogs really have a need to herd, and they’ll herd whatever they can find! One time I was out for a walk and was behind a group of people who were with a Bouvier des Flandres, another member of the Herding Group. The dog started to walk slower and slower until I caught up to him. Then he proceeded to get right behind me and herd me into the group of people in front of me. It was fun to watch him do what he does best.

One of the best things about a dog show is the opportunity to see many different breeds up close & personal. I find that I always tend to look for my favorites, but am learning to love breeds that I haven’t been as familiar with in the past … like the Boston Terrier. This breed originated in Boston, Mass. and is a true American dog. It’s a cross between an English Bulldog and a White English Terrier and is nicknamed “The American Gentleman” because of his dapper appearance. They are adorably cute!

Buttercups and Dandelions are proof that weeds are worth photographing. Some folks spend many hours trying to rid their garden of dandelions and I say, “let them grow” because I enjoy photographing them! I found these last week when I was in the garden planting my new flower bulbs…all 100 of them. So far the chippies or squirrels have confiscated 2 or 3 of the bulbs, but the rest seem to be intact. Don’t tell the critters where I planted them, okay?! 🙂

I just finished processing my favorite images from the Bucks County Kennel Club Dog Show and have posted them on the website. Here’s a link:

There were over 2,500 dogs entered in the show and I shot 700+ images. It was tough to select favorites to post because the dogs in each and every photo were adorable and all deserve a spot on the website. Photographing an outdoor dog show was a great exercise in learning to adjust quickly to changes in lighting while photographing moving animals. Stay tuned for photos from last week’s Chester Valley Kennel Club Dog Show!

Below are the answers to last week’s post called “Guess the Breed”. Were you able to guess them all correctly?
