Two year old Brittany, Grace,  is just getting started in the show ring, claiming her first couple of points in the last few weeks!  She is owned, handled and loved by David and Cheri Frei.  She also brings much happiness to the children at Ronald McDonald House in NYC where she and her sister Angel visit on a regular basis.  I was so happy to have a chance to take a few photos of her last Saturday at the Devon Kennel Club show in Pennsylvania.

When I saw this girl hugging her black cocker spaniel it reminded me of the black and tan cocker I had when I was a child.  I spent many hours just sitting on the steps of the porch hugging my dog like this!  We were best friends!

Another of my favorite breeds…the Glen of Imaal Terrier!  This breed is a native of Ireland and is considered to be a big dog with short legs!  They were originally bred to chase vermin and hunt badger and fox but they also had a unique task to perform…they were turnspit dogs.  The turnspit was a large wheel that, when paddled by the dog, would turn a spit over the hearth.  In essence, it was a canine propelled rotisserie!  How cool is that?  They are just the cutest dogs!  Don’t you love this pair?

Wow – it’s been a LONG time since I’ve done a “swipe” like this.  I was in my yard yesterday taking photos of my brand new roof  [thank you hail storm and insurance company!] and noticed some nice color on the mountain behind the house.  I only took a few steps from the back patio in order to capture this scene of the colored leaves and tree trunks in the woods.  This was shot at ISO 400, f/32 and 0.3 second handheld and moving the camera vertically while the shutter was open.

Congratulations to Chanel [GCH CH Starline’s Chanel] and Lori Wilson on their Best in Show win at the Devon Kennel Club show on Saturday in Ludwigs Corner, Pa.  Chanel is the #1 Whippet in the country and the winningist Whippet in AKC history.   Another image is below.
