The lifeguard chair sits idle on the beach all winter long … just waiting for the warmth of summer when the swimmers come back to the lake. You can barely even see the lake in this image as it’s coated with a thick layer of fog on this gloomy, yet mild, winter day.

There were so many different elements going on at the lake today. It was extremely foggy and mild, with temperatures in the mid to upper 50’s. Crazy for January in Pennsylvania! The fog was moving quickly, weaving in and out of the trees and over the frozen lake. Cracks in the ice made some interesting patterns close to the shore line and oak leaves were frozen in time, just beneath the surface of the ice. Every few minutes the landscape would change as more or less fog enveloped the landscape. The warm and cool tones of this scene perfectly depict the day.

Uh-oh! I’m turning into the parent with the new baby who unfolds a wallet filled to the brim with photos of their little darling. Except in my case, it’s photos of my new little kitties that I’m inclined to think that everyone in the world can’t live without seeing! 🙂 Here’s Brewster with his new favorite ducky toy! When he first came to the Siamese Cat Rescue Center, Brewster didn’t even know what a toy was, let alone know how to play with one. Because of the patience of his foster mom at the center, Brewster learned that toys are fun! He loves to roll around on the bed with ducky and hold him in his paws! I guess maybe it’s like his security blanket at the moment! Brewster and ducky have bonded!

Savannah’s new favorite napping spot is the recliner by the window. It’s not only a favorite sleeping place, but it’s also the “stepping stone” that takes her from the floor to the windowsill where she can watch the birds and squirrels with no jumping required. It’s a multi-purpose piece of furniture! I had to teach her to use the chair to get to the windowsill because when she first came home, she would sit on the floor listening to the birds outside, but didn’t know how to get to the window. She learns very quickly!

Say hello to the other half of my new furry family …. Brewster! Brewster is a 2 year old blue point Siamese cat who was found in a park in Maryland where a very bad person had been poisoning cats. Thankfully his guardian angels were watching out for him and he was brought to the Siamese Cat Rescue Center in Virginia before any harm was done to him! They have no idea how long he had been fending for himself or what his background is, but he’s an extremely affectionate cat who wants nothing more than love and attention. I fell in love with him the second I saw his photo and video on the Rescue Center website! Brewster came home yesterday and is doing extremely well! Hopefully after a slow integration, he and his new little sister Savannah will be the best of friends! This is his first official photograph. I’d say that he’s a super model in the making!
