Doesn’t this porch look inviting?  A perfect spot to spend a summer afternoon with a good book and a glass of lemonade.  This scene is from “somewhere in Lancaster County, Pa.”.  I love to turn off the GPS and just drive without paying attention to where I am or where I’m going.  That’s when you come upon hidden treasures to photograph!

It was a Sunday morning buffet for this deer that visited my garden today.  First she nibbled on my trumpet vine, then some weeds, and finally she dined on my Spirea bush (the flowers in the foreground).  The fake heron was keeping an eye on her, but that didn’t deter the chomping!  Oh sure, I could have tapped on the window to scare her away, but the reason I love living where I do is because it’s so close to nature.  I wouldn’t have it any other way!

All of the classic car owners were showing off the engines and other fancy car parts by having the hoods propped open at the car show.  The hood ornament on this old Oldsmobile reminded me of an airplane ready to take off.  Since the car show was right near an airport, it was very appropriate. Oh how I wanted a photo of a real airplane in the same shot as this hood ornament!

How can you not fall in love with a Beagle that is dressed to look like spaghetti and meatballs?  What an ingenious costume!  The “sauce” was red fabric, the spaghetti was rope, and the meatballs looked like painted Styrofoam.  This little pup has been through 5 leg surgeries and looked wonderful!  He/she won second place at the Paw Prints on the Canal best dressed dog contest.  Okay, so who’s hungry for spaghetti and meatballs now?

When I’m out and about with my camera, I never fail to make a new doggie friend or two.  People LOVE talking about their pets and they always agree to let me snap a photo or two.  They may think I’m nutty, but nevertheless, I’ve never had anyone tell me that I couldn’t take a picture of their dog.  Here’s a handsome little guy that I met while photographing the snow goose migration earlier this year.  There are always dogs at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area during the snow goose migration and I am forever amazed at how well behaved they are!  Middle Creek is a great place to walk your dog and all of those geese are pure entertainment … especially for the sporting breeds!
