…May flowers, of course! Even a rainy day in May is epic at the local garden center! There are so many wonderful plants and flowers that I want to bring home for my garden! I saw Mr. Groundhog in the front yard the other evening and so I don’t know how many flowers would survive once he finds out that the garden buffet is open for dinner!

I love to see all of the cool colored boots that make their way into dog show fashion after a little rain. The owners and handlers who have to be outside showing their dogs are always very well prepared for whatever Mother Nature sends their way! I’ve seen dogs wearing some pretty impressive boots to protect their paws as well!

Gabriel is my little Lynx Point Siamese or Tabby Point Siamese. Now 1 year old and blended splendidly into our family, he is a bundle of energy and oh so inquisitive! Lynx Point Siamese cats combine a Siamese coat and points with the striped markings of a tabby. Gabriel has all of the classic markings – well defined stripes around the eyes, nose and cheeks, an “M” shaped marking on the forehead, striped legs and a striped tail. His nose looks like he spent a little too long in the sun and his eyes are bluer than blue! He is verrrry handsome!

The dogs love getting back to nature at the outdoor shows! Hey, so do photographers! No worries about dark buildings, sodium vapor lights that change color, high ISO settings that cause digital noise in the photographs, etc., all of which result in the need for extra editing. There are, however, challenges outdoors as well….sunny days that cast unwanted shadows, inclement weather, and the need to constantly re-evaluate lighting conditions depending on whether you are shooting under a tent or out in the rings. The pluses of an outdoor show far outweigh the minus’ though! Hooray for the great outdoors!
