Month: May 2017

The pond has been cleaned, the frogs have moved in for the summer, and the waterlilies will soon be blooming!  I love my little pond.  It’s nothing fancy, but it suits me just fine!

There were many hugs and lots of tears as we celebrated the life of Luis Carlos Montalvan at Pace University on Sunday.  The best hug of all was from Luis’ best friend, Tuesday!  This sweet boy melts my heart!

Sunday was a difficult day to say the least.  I traveled to Pleasantville, NY to attend and photograph the Celebration of Life event held in memory of  Luis Carlos Montalvan who passed away in December, 2016.  After 17 years serving our country in the military, Luis suffered from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and other  injuries sustained during his time of service.  His beloved service dog, Tuesday, was his best friend.  Tuesday is now in the loving care of the organization that trained him to assist Luis – ECAD (Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities).  At the end of Sunday’s event, everyone went outside and Tuesday assisted with a release of white doves.  Watching Tuesday look to the sky and watch the birds was so emotional.   Luis’ latest book – “Tuesday’s Promise” – was released today.  My copy just arrived in the mail and I’m anxious to begin to read the last chapter of the love story of Luis and Tuesday.  I know that I will be crying.
