Elements of a Heart

Bleeding hearts are one of my favorite springtime flowers.  I love the color, the shape, and the uniqueness of the flowers.  Two of my plants are in bloom and I wanted to photograph them today, but it was fairly breezy, which makes it difficult.  Those little flowers dangling from the stems are almost always on the move.  Finally the wind calmed and I went outside, but it started to rain after just a few minutes.  Still, I managed a few shots with the Lensbaby Composer and soft focus optic.  This image breaks down the elements of a bleeding heart — the unfolding leaves, the stems, and the heart-shaped flower itself.  I processed this image with Fractalius and Photoshop.
