I pass the water lily pond every day … twice! In Spring it comes alive with pretty yellow water lilies. In Fall, it is one of my favorite spots for reflections. It is home to frogs, ducks, geese and an occasional heron. It was picture perfect on this late Fall afternoon so I dashed home for my camera and spent a few minutes enjoying and photographing the view!

Someone must have known that I was headed to the lake for a few photos because they put these 3 boats in the perfect spot for a picture!

I am a huge Jack Hanna fan and was excited to see his show in Lancaster this past weekend. “Jungle Jack” is Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and hosts several TV shows including “Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown” and “Into the Wild”. He is well-known for bringing his animal friends to visit Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Good Morning America, etc., and never fails to entertain. Jack is an animal expert, conservationist and educator. It was wonderful to see and learn about some fascinating animals at the show, including a beaver, alligator, owl, two-toed sloth, lemur, penguin, kookaburra, and, my favorite, the cheetah. There were more, but I can’t remember the names of them all! Isn’t this cheetah beautiful?

We’ve had a LOT of rain this summer in my neck of the woods. Just yesterday we received over an inch. It was torrential at times! In some ways the garden has been thriving (the weeds are growing like crazy!) and then there are the plants and flowers that don’t like too much water. Here’s one that tolerates wet soil nicely …. with a rain droplet on the petal.
