I was just meandering through some old images and came across this one of the Empire State Building framed by the Brooklyn Bridge. We were beneath the bridge at a flea market and as we wandered the streets we found some interesting things to photograph. I processed this image with several different layers of Topaz Adjust. Brooklyn = FUN!

Remember when the dash on your car had all kinds of knobs to control the radio, vents, heat, defrost, etc.? And when the radio DIDN’T have a scan button to search for stations? Those were the days! I love the pretty colors of some of the cars from yesterday….baby blue, teal, purple, pink, bright yellow, even two-tone. They were so cool … even without the fuzzy dice!

The Civil War reenactors were sleeping under the stars in tents and rain and thunderstorms were threatening. Since they were doing all of their cooking by fire, they needed to keep their matches dry…otherwise they would be rubbing 2 sticks together. This was a good solution, plus a fun “still life” to photograph. I applied the Spicify Topaz Adjust filter and a few other tweaks here and there in Photoshop to end up with this final image.

You just never know where flower seeds will end up on a breezy day!

I saw these iron steps and railing a couple weeks ago when I was driving to a business appointment. Of course I didn’t have my camera, so I made a mental note of the location so I could go back. Today was the day. I was in the general vicinity again and was able to grab the shot that I wanted. The rusty steps and peeling paint on the brick wall add texture and I really like all of the graphic lines and circles in the decorative ironwork.
