Who remembers Shari Lewis and her adorable puppet Lamb Chop? Lamb Chop was a favorite of mine as a child and now is a favorite of Sebastian too! I found a stuffed Lamb Chop dog toy while out shopping the other day and since Sebastian loooveees dog toys, it was a keeper! Sebastian likes toys that he can snuggle with and wrap his paws around and Lamb Chop fit the bill! The original Lamb Chop was white, but the dog toy version came in pink or blue. The blog image shows my little buddy Sebastian on the sofa, surrounded by toys, with his new favorite right in front. He and Lamb Chop are even holding hands….er, paws…..too! A little Lamb Chop history:
– Puppeteer Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop first appeared on The Captain Kangaroo Show in 1956
– Shari’s own show, “The Shari Lewis Show”, debuted in 1960 and featured Lamb Chop and many other puppets
– Shari Lewis passed away in 1996, but her daughter Mallory continues to perform with Lamb Chop
– Throughout her life, Shari Lewis won many awards for children’s programming and wrote 60 books for children

When I met Haskell, it was love at first sight! I’ve heard tales about him for years, but never met him personally…..until yesterday! He is soooo handsome! Haskell is a shepherd/collie mix and is just like a big cuddly teddy bear! He’s getting a little older – has some hip issues – and his parents wanted some nice images that could be used for the basis of a painting. He isn’t used to being a “super model” and the warm weather wasn’t helping, but we have some beautiful photos of him nonetheless. I think maybe we will get together again for another session in the Fall when the weather is a little cooler. In the meantime, Mr. Handsome, you can practice that smile and the one ear up/one ear down look that is your trademark!

This afternoon I spent a little while photographing the flowers in my garden. My most favorite, Honeysuckle, is in bloom and the fragrance in the garden is delightful! With the mild winter and lots of rain we’ve had this spring, my flowers are blooming better than ever! The Honeysuckle is starting to fade, so I wanted to snap a few images before it is too late. When I came back in the house, I turned on the computer and visited some of my favorite blogs. I found a beautiful post by my friend, Sam Gray, featuring a Honeysuckle. Check out his post here and be sure to visit his photo blog often – his work is amazing: http://designbysamgray.com/blog/2012/06/09/sweet-smelling-honeysuckle/
Below are some more images of “What’s In Bloom” currently in my garden: Clematis, Daisy and Spirea.

It was right after the lunch break at the Huntingdon Valley Kennel Club Show on Saturday. Handlers and dogs were wandering back into the tents to get ready for their afternoon time in front of the judges. To my eye, pretty colored clothes [like the handler’s blue print skirt] and adorable dogs seem to make great photos! In this shot, you can see the blue sky reflected in the dog’s eyes and oh what an expression, don’t you think? I love it!
